Is the New York Pass Worth your Money

People visiting New York City initially are invariably amazed by the cost. They get feeling that a lot of the major events that everyone hopes to see, from the Empire State Building, to visiting a museum is likely to set you back twenty dollars per person on average. To help you spend less on your next visit to New York, consider a New York Pass discount.

When people come to New York they usually have the dream of seeing everything there is to see. The fact remains though, they are only going to access about 4 to 5 visitors attractions everyday, dependent on when you start and when you will decide to pack it in mainly due to sometimes extended lines.

If you want to save some money when visiting New York City then you should look at obtaining a New York City Pass. If you take the average of $20 per person, that is $80 to $100 which you could have spent to visit those attractions. The New York Pass costs $75 for a one-day pass and $110 for a two-day pass, $125 for a three-day pass and $165 for a seven-day pass.

Now there are several things to take into consideration when contemplating whether or not to get a New York Pass. There are a lot of activities to do at no cost, like going into Central Park or window shopping on 5th Avenue or visiting FAO Swartz or the Sony Plaza. You can spend a considerable amount of time doing these things so a New York Pass would be a waste of money in that situation. Also, make sure that you call all of the places that you are intending on visiting as there is a fair amount of these attractions that are being renovated. Some of them, like Lincoln Center at the time of this writing, is not doing any tours because of renovations. If you are planning on hitting several different attractions on your stop by at New York City the New York Pass will certainly save you lots of money!

Potty Training

Many parents who has a child that is between one and two have tried to potty train their toddler. Most of then have done it at this age but however there are many children who are not ready for potty training at this age.

You have to try to potty train your toddler when they are ready. Toddlers will show signs that they are ready for potty training. Watch to see if your toddler hides to do a number two. Your toddler may want to see what you do in the bathroom because they are caurious. Many will tell their mom or dad what they have done in their diaper. Some ask to be changed. This is like training ideas usually. Your toddler is ready to be potty trained when this happens.

Parents are the ones who need to be potty trained, it is true and you have heard it before. This is true because we as the parents are the ones who have to take time out of our busy lives to encourage our children to go potty. If you do not take the time then your child could be in diapers when it is time for them to go to kindergarten. Sometimes this is the same as new diapers. I’m not saying that this is bad that is if you like to change diapers.

When the signs have shown that your toddler is ready for potty training and you are ready to take the time then get it done. It will only take a couple of days to have your toddler potty trained for the day time hours. Look for signs that your toddler is using his diaper for a toilet on the first day and tell your toddler that you have a potty for him to do that in, unlike toddlers usually. Enforce the potty chair and try treats when it has been used. There is a lot of information online about potty training and remember that it is a simple part of parenting.

Reciprocal Linking is Bad for Your Business Website Health

As small business owners, we need to find traffic for our websites from wherever we can get it — assuming, of course, that the source is relevant traffic. Irrelevant traffic actually HURTS your website rank in the search engines so we don’t want that. For that reason, we are not fans of reciprocal linking schemes, link farms, etc.

Case in point. I recently met with a new client in Los Angeles who needed to market their small business website. They had previously enjoyed a Page Rank of 5 for their website. Over the past two years, it has dropped to a Page Rank of 3. This was due to a number of factors, but chief among those was the fact that they had been forced into a reciprocal linking arrangement with an unscrupulous vendor. It benefited the vendor tremendously, as they were able to show the search engines that their site was being ranked to from a PR5 website; it made the vendor’s site more “buoyant” (it made it rank higher) in the search engines. The moral of the story is, be very careful if someone offers to do you the “favor” of creating a link to your site, in exchange to linking from yours. It could be detrimental to your website’s Search Engine health.

Nevertheless, you should look for opportunities to receive links from relevant websites whenever possible. It might not seem fair to “take” a link without giving one back, but there are other ways you can help the linking website. If they have a satellite website, you could consider linking to that in the body of one of your posts — relevant topic / contextual link / deep link to the satellite site. Just be careful that the link partner understands that directly linking from the satellite site to their main site will not be nearly as good as if they link in a broad circle of 10 sites before returning to the main site. This is somewhat sophisticated SEO / linking strategy that we’re sharing, so it’s not for everyone to implement on their own. It also implies that you have up to 10 web properties that are all somewhat related that can be daisy chained together… Again, not for everyone. But definitely for businesses that want to insure being on Page 1 on Google. ;)

It requires a lot of time, attention and planning to implement a 10-site daisy chain strategy, and we encourage you to go into that with plenty of forethought. Take the time to not only analyze and eliminate any chance of reciprocal linking or neighbor linking possibilities in the chain, and also insure that whomever in your organization will be managing your website network understands this strategy. A small business SEO Policy is a very smart investment in resources. It takes relatively little time for a website to fall in page rank, and a significantly greater amount of time to gain rank — especially after it is lost.

The underlying issue of Page Rank has been said to be overrated, and it’s largely a symbol of the site’s overall bouyancy in the search engines… it’s not necessarily a goal for a web owner to achieve a particular page rank; it’s more of a barometer or guideline than a definitive benchmark or landing point. The website owner with a page rank of 0 would certainly agree that a page rank of 5 would represent that his/her traffic has achieved more traffic (visitors), more conversions and more leads & sales. That’s really the benchmark we’re aiming for.

Stargazing on your computer screen

Anyone who has ever seen the night sky full of stars with no light pollution from big cities around will most happily agree that this is one of the most magnificent experiences you can have. It makes you feel small and humble and at the same time you stand there staring and are just thankful the unbelievable beauty nature has to offer.

If you even had the chance to see for example saturn through a telescope like I had last year in Australia, then most probably the astronomy virus got you! The pictures of the universe are perceived as beautiful all over the world, there are no cultural borders for this – it is truely “universal”.

Unfortunatly it is not always possible to go out and have a look yourself – many of the most wonderful images are hidden to the bare eye. You need strong telescopes and often you need equipment to be able to “see” in other wavelengths of the electromagnetic spectrum. But you can enjoy those images nevertheless, even everyday if you want to: Have a look at the Outer Space Picture Calendar 2010 on lookatstars.com.

But you can adore those pictures not only in print but on your computer screen as well. Read more about how to view astronomy pictures of outerspace on your personal computer screen. There are many tips and tricks on how to find star constellations and get info about any celestial object in a very huge database.

Did you ever wonder where all these pictures of space come from? Hmm, isn’t it obvious, that many of them are from NASA. And best is, as most missions are publicly funded, the resulting images are public domain. Read here about where to find an incredibly collection of beautiful pictures of outer space.
