Best Abs Workout

Abs. Abs. Abs. Everyone wants them. The truth is that people are bombarded with products, gadgets and gizmo’s promising a six pack solution every single day.

Unfortunately none of these products ever live up to their promise. You see when it comes to building perfect abs a low body fat % is the most important factor. The way you get a low body fat % is by dieting. Thats it! Cardio helps but its not even necessary.

Eventually you will have a low bodyfat% but your abs may not look as defined as you had hoped. This is where we have to strengthen and develop the muscles of the six pack. The way we do this is with the best workout for abs. But when it comes to working abs most people train terribly. You see time and time again people are making the same mistakes when it comes to training their abs.

First off people perform way to many repetitions! In order for your abs to get thicker, deeper and denser they have to become stronger. When you perform circuits and super-sets of 20+ reps your really only improving strength endurance. This leads to very little increase in muscle tone.

The second mistake people are making when it comes to training abs is that they are performing way too many sit-up and crunch variations. Crunches and Sit-ups are terrible for your spine. In fact these exercises destabilize your spine leading to poor posture and back pain. In addition crunches do very little to develop your abs. You see most people are already at or near their crunching potential. So getting stronger at crunches won’t make a huge difference.

What is the secret to six pack abs?

The secret my friend is to perform leg raise variations. These exercises are way more effective at building your abs and they are way better for your back. These leg raises are the best workout for abs. There are several ways to perform leg raise exercise. You can perform them lying down, hanging on a bar or supporting yourself in parallel dip bars.

When performing leg raises on a bar I recommend starting by lifting your knees to your chest. This is far easier than lifting your legs straight out. Overtime you can straighten your legs out.

These variations are very hard and will take many months to master. However the mastering of these exercises will guarantee perfect abs.
