This year major electronics makers have unveiled a gamut of innovative blu-ray players that further expand on the features and functionalities of blu-ray models. These new players now come with additional innovative features but cheaper than old generation players.
For example the flagship player from LG, the LG BD590 costs less than than 2009′s BD390 and the new Samsung BD-C6900 which is 3D capable also costs much less.
LG started out with combining network functions in its players ever since introducing Netflix streaming with the BD-300 in 2008. It enhanced this in the BD590. It is also network ready and even boasts a built-in 250GB hard drive, something not available in any other player.It will rip CDs,downloaded movies, and photos, all of which can be transfered either by USB or Ethernet port, through its built-in 802.11n Wi-Fi connection. With its own NetCast Entertainment Access you get instant streaming from Netflix, CinemaNow, VUDU and YouTube plus an impressive lineup of services from Picasa, Pandora and weather forecasts from AccuWeather.
The Samsung BD-C6900 is designed to seize the hype in 3D technology. It has impressive styling and design. Measuring only 1.1 inch high with a see-thorugh top making it possible for you can see the disc spinning inside! LG has conveniently located the play, stop and fast forward control buttons on the top. These are also touch sensitive. The overall set looks sleek, stylish and high tech. The BD-C6900 will come with integrated Wi-Fi connection and Samsung’s latest version of Internet@TV, which put more widgets on your screen. The innovative BD-C6900 also boasts faster boot up times, while the 1080p playback reproduces movie images at 24 frames per sec which makes movies more like-like.
