The internet nowadays is a great source for finding the right medical products, be it medical machinery or simply medication for personal use. It is simply a click away. It is no wonder that the medical products industry is considered to be one of the world’s most important industries as about 95% of the world’s population depend on medical products for their everyday survival. This is the case for people suffering from life threatening diseases such as diabetes, cancer, emphysema and many more, who depend on these medical products to live through another day.
Our society needs medical products in hospitals, being especially true in government hospitals which faces many other challenges such as inadequate numner staff to a lack of required medical products and equipment to deal with the high volume of patients who a lot of the times can’t afford the medical products themselves. In a third world country such as South Africa, where most people cannot afford to have a medical aid they are reliant on the government providing the health care they need. It is thus easy to appreciate medical products’ importance in the survival and quality of life of patients. Without it, hospitals, clinics and pharmacies would be completely unable to function or exist.
Due to the high cost of researching and manufacturing of medical products, it has become expensive and in some case simply unaffordable to some. This is especially true in poor or overpopulated countries where the demand for medical care is so high that simply dispensing of medication at low cost is difficult. The ever increasing demand for medical products has contributed to the medical industry becoming one of the biggest industries in the world. This is largely due to the fact that so many people depend on medical equipment and medicine in their daily lives, and institutions simply cannot operate without it. If you were to take away medical products, it would not only be disastrous on the health system but the economy as well.
Without the research that goes into finding new medical products society can suffer greatly. First, we face the problem of an unnecessary increased death rate which will always be unacceptable. Secondly without the right medication and equipment doctors are not able to do their job and heal their patients and sustain or prolong their patients’ lives. No person deserves to die from a treatable disease, or suffer through an illness that is treatable. That is why the need for proper medical products will never wane.
